Seven home-grown companies have received funding from the DesignSingapore Council to look at how design can help solve real-world problems such as sustainability.

Womenswear designer Ginlee Studio is experimenting with a new pleat mould (above) that can be applied to old blouses and fabric pieces to give them a new texture to reduce wastage.
